Do the English speak English?英国人讲的是英语吗?
English在这里均为名词,但意义不同。
第1个指“英国人”,为总称,后面的动词必须用复数;
第2个指“英语”。指语言时前面不加冠词,指人则要加the:
英国人经常谈论天气。

English还可以作形容词,表示“英格兰的”、“英国的”、“英国人的”等:
与English相似的单词有French, Chinese, Japanese等:
我用法语向他问早上好。
